
Prof.Dr. Zlatan Zlatev Denchev

Dr. Zlatan Zlatev Denchev is a Staff Professor with Habilitation at the University of Minho, Portugal, and a senior researcher in advanced polymer materials and technologies. With more than 40 years of experience in polymer science and engineering, his work focuses on the development of micro- and nanoscale polymer hybrid systems, reactive micro-encapsulation technologies, electroconductive and EMI-shielding composites, and advanced structural characterization of polymers by synchrotron X-ray techniques. His research bridges fundamental polymer science with industrial applications in advanced materials, electronics, and functional composite systems. Prof. Denchev is the author of more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and holds 9 patents.
My Story
Prof. Zlatan Denchev is an internationally recognized polymer scientist with decades of experience in polymer engineering, advanced polyamide systems, and the structural design of high-performance polymer materials. His scientific career has been devoted to understanding the relationship between polymer chemistry, molecular architecture, and material performance, with particular emphasis on polyamides and related engineering polymers used in advanced manufacturing environments. His work integrates polymer synthesis, crystallization mechanisms, morphology control, and advanced material characterization to develop polymer systems with precisely tailored structural and functional properties.

Throughout his academic and research career, Prof. Denchev has made significant contributions to polymer science through extensive work in polyamide chemistry, polymer composites, and advanced processing technologies. His research has explored the behavior of semicrystalline polymers, crystallization kinetics, polymer morphology development, and the influence of molecular structure on thermal, mechanical, and functional properties. By combining polymer chemistry with advanced analytical techniques, he has contributed to the development of polymer materials with improved structural stability, controlled crystallinity, and optimized performance for engineering and industrial applications.
